Romans 8:28 -- Everything For a Reason

Romans 8:28 (niv) reads as follows:

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him,
who have been called according to his purpose.

The NLT puts it this way:

And we know that God causes everything to work together
for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.

The Amplified Bible places the text in the context that I have come to understand it:

We are assured and know that
God being a partner in their labor] all things work together and are [fitting into
a plan] for good to and for those who love God and are called according to [His]
design and purpose.

The problem for us is to understand how all the seeming random events of our lives might play into that plan for our lives and those impacted by them. I have come to believe that what occurs and what we do -- and how they play out -- is for a reason which, all too often, we either are unable to discern or fail to follow through on.

God, give me the insight I need to understand and act upon what you wish me to do in my life to further your kingdom first and foremost.
